Description: The top of the viola is carved from two pieces of spruce, which have wide grains at the center seam and narrower grains towards the flanks. The back of the viola is carved from two pieces of flamed maple which have a close curl pattern running perpendicular to the center seam. The sides are carved from maple which matches the back. the scroll is of plain maple. The viola is coated with a brown colored varnish that has been "antiqued." The condition of the viola is new. Great instrument for advanced high school student.
